Port Bouvard Ltd Supports Gidgegannup Events
Port Bouvard Ltd Seeks Gidgegannup Community’s Views
Community Consultation
Port Bouvard Ltd has recognised that the Western Australian Planning Commission and City of Swan have already undertaken a series of workshops with the Gidgegannup area to develop the NEHSPP and Rural Strategy.
In addition, the City of Swan has undertaken an infrastructure audit, Strategic Plan (Experience Gidgegannup) and hosted additional training sessions with the Gidgegannup area to focus on its proposed growth and future direction.
These studies and research is being used as the basis to further engage the community, in the development of Gidgegannup.
The first step in the project team's engagement of the community has been the extensive survey research undertaken with Gidgegannup and Morangup households and businesses between November 2007 and February 2008. The surveys have proven to be the ideal way to ensure all members of the community have an opportunity to have their say and to understand the community’s desires for the future of Gidgegannup.
The feedback received from the surveys will form the base from which workshops can be held to further refine the community’s objectives for Gidgegannup Village. The workshops will be attended by local residents, business operators, government representatives and members of the Port Bouvard Ltd project team.
The project team is looking forward to working with the local community and relevant government departments to assist with growing Gidgegannup.
