Consultation

Port Bouvard Ltd commenced a community consultation process in September 2007 by hosting a series of meetings with stakeholders, business owners and community groups.  A survey was also issued to 800 Gidgegannup households, of which there was a 22% response rate.  A further survey was issued to 290 Morongup households of which there was a 17% response rate.

Now that feedback has been received from the local community, planning workshops will be undertaken in April with local residents, community groups, business owners and government departments.  Invitations have been sent to those that responded to Port Bouvard Ltd's survey database members and numbers will be restricted to around 50 participants, in order to maintain intimacy within the process and to facilitate a focused outcome.

The intent of these workshop sessions is to seek feedback about how the Gidgegannup village may appear, for example building styles, as well as guiding principles for the development and its overall design.

Ideally at the end of the sessions there will be a range of community and stakeholder views and ideas that the project team can interpret into design concepts for further discussion.

A second workshop will then be held to review the design suggestions so that a detailed structure plan can be prepared for formal consideration by the authorities.

As part of the formal planning process the community will have further opportunity to review and comment on the plan directly to the City of Swan. Additional community focus groups on specific aspects of the village will continue throughout the lifetime of the project. If you would like to submit comments please contact us.
