Environment
Gidgegannup is placed in a relatively unique rural setting. This is particularly so when you consider its proximity to Perth and surrounding district centres such as Midland.
The City of Swan has a strong approach to biodiversity and this is reinforced with the City of Swan’s and City of Perth’s biodiversity plans.
There are also a number of areas that are classified as A Class Reserves in the Gidgegannup area, including Percy Cullen Oval.
The area also boasts several national parks including Walyunga, John Forrest and Avon Valley, as well as Karakamia and Paruna Sanctuaries.
Port Bouvard Ltd itself has a strong commitment to sound environmental planning and outcomes which has been demonstrated through its actions on previous projects.
On that basis the project team is placing a high priority on minimising the impact of the village development on the local environment and considering a wide range of sustainable practices which will set a benchmark in Western Australia for future developments.
