Port Bouvard Ltd Seeks Gidgegannup Community’s Views

Welcome to Gidgegannup
Gidgegannup is a hills community located approximately 42kms from the Perth CBD in Western Australia. The village is well endowed, being set in a naturally beautiful setting and having a rural community which in the last 10 years has grown considerably through the creation of smaller-lot ‘acreage’ subdivision.
The North Eastern Hills Settlement Pattern Plan adopted by the Western Australian Planning Commission in 2002, identified that the population of Perth would grow to 2 million residents by 2029 and some of the additional growth would be accommodated in the North Eastern Hills area. Gidgegannup, along with two other proposed hills townsites, was identified as an integral location to accommodate this growth.
Port Bouvard Ltd has acquired land in Gidgegannup, which it will develop in consultation with the community. The company has previously been involved in the world class Port Bouvard development situated in Dawesville, Mandurah and Princeton Estate in Stirling. The company also has a range of other current development projects at Point Grey, Melros, Esperance and Furnissdale.
Managed by Ross Neumann and a publicly listed company, Port Bouvard Ltd is looking forward to growing the existing Gidgegannup townsite to cater for 4000-5000 residents in accordance with the strategic direction of the Western Australian Planning Commission’s North Eastern Hills Settlement Pattern Plan (NEHSPP).
Already identified by the City of Swan as an ideal location for eco-tourism pursuits, it is anticipated that Gidgegannup village will also attract complementary businesses who will seek to reflect this theme.
The company is in the process of conducting a thorough consultation programme to assist in the preparation of a structure plan which will not only establish a design outcome for Gidgegannup, but will enshrine the principles of the development into a statutory document which will guide the on-going growth of Gidgegannup. The structure plan will eventually be lodged with the City of Swan and the Western Australian Planning Commission and will form the basis for future ‘rezonings’ to the City of Swan Town Planning Scheme and the Metropolitan Region Scheme.
We are anticipating that development in the Gidgegannup area will commence in 2010, subject to relevant approvals having been received.
