The Gidgegannup development has an array of expert consultants engaged by Port Bouvard Ltd to assist with the planning and delivery of the village centre vision:

Port Bouvard Ltd – The Developer

Jeff Strahan, Development Manager

Jeff was previously employed as Port Bouvard Ltd’s senior town planner, working for Greg Rowe and Associates from 1996 until 2007.  Jeff was responsible for the design and approvals of the Port Bouvard project in Mandurah from 1998 and has been involved in the planning and project management of numerous other residential, commercial and rural projects.

Jeff is now charged with the task of managing the Gidgegannup project.

John Wroth, Development Director

John is the Development Director at Port Bouvard Ltd and has been with the company for 10 years.

John’s background is in land development and he has extensive experience in design and concept planning, working with both Local and State Government, political strategy and dealing with the community. John is responsible for all acquisitions, development, planning and management of projects for Port Bouvard Ltd.

John is tertiary qualified in environmental science, project management and business administration.

Simon Youngleson - Architects and Urban Designers

Simon Youngleson

Simon has a wide range of international experience gained over two decades in professional practice as a design architect in South Africa, New Zealand and now in Australia.

On arriving in Australia 8 years ago, Simon joined Jones Coulter Young Architects and Urban Planners (JCY) and successfully worked with developers on many large residential projects and became an Associate Director of the company in 2001.

In 2003 Simon commenced his own design company and has focused to date on designing buildings with authentic regional characteristics and a timeless presence.

Greg Rowe and Associates – Town Planning

George Hajigabriel – General Manager

George is General Manager of Greg Rowe and Associates and has been with the Company since 1991.  In that time George has been responsible for supervising the successful completion of a variety of high profile projects.

Recent projects that George has been directly involved with include:

Claire Richards – Senior Planner and Team Leader

Claire has been a team member at Greg Rowe and Associated since 2002 when she graduated as a town planner from Curtin University.

Claire was involved with the Emu Brewery site design as well as development projects in Busselton, Waroona and Baldivis.

Claire is now Greg Rowe and Associates’ senior town planner for the majority of Port Bouvard Ltd’s projects.

Strategic Marketing and Research (SMR) - Community Consultation

Samantha Reece, Director

Samantha was employed in a variety of public relations positions for over 10 years before she commenced SMR in 2000.  The company specialises in undertaking community consultation programmes for property and mining companies as well as marketing and PR services.

Samantha has undertaken extensive training in the area of “democracy in planning” and has worked with Minister MacTiernan on the coastal planning review process.

She brings to the Gidgegannup project a team of qualified consultants to aid with research, consultation and event management.

Debra Wilson, Senior Consultant

Debra has in excess of twenty-five years successful experience in change and community facilitation.

Debra held the positions of Head of Corporate Human Resources for the Water Corporation and Manager Organisational Capability and Manager Human Resources for Argyle Diamond Mines, a Rio Tinto Group Company before commencing as a consultant with SMR.  Previously, Debra also worked in the Health Care, Education and Hospitality and Tourism Industries.

McDowall Affleck – Civil Engineering

Michael Ferritto – Managing Director

Michael Ferritto has a wide range of experience, in the areas of land development, drainage design, onsite effluent disposal investigations, residential constructions (particularly in the hills of Perth) and project management of commercial building works.

He has been involved in the consulting field for over sixteen years with McDowall Affleck. His experience has ranged from undertaking geotechnical site investigations in the hills of Perth, subsequent design of residential construction on these sites, inspection and determination of causes to cracked houses and subsequent remediation thereof including underpinning design and construction.

Worley Parsons - Engineering

Giselle Degebrodt – Senior Water and Wastewater Engineer

Graduating with a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering in 1995, Giselle has dedicated her career to working with the water sector in WA.

Employed firstly by the Water Corporation, Giselle worked in a variety of localities including Karratha, Kalgoorlie, Cocos Islands and in the South West before joining Worley in 2005.

Giselle is experienced in water and wastewater engineering, including source-to-consumer water planning, source-to-disposal/reuse wastewater planning, and mining and industrial water planning. This includes development forecasts, hydraulics optimisation, economic modeling and optimisation, environmental and social sustainability of schemes and approvals processing.

Cardno BSD – Environmental

Jason Hick - Principal

Jason is a Principal of Cardno BSD and is the Manager of Environmental Services in its Western Australian Division.  Jason has over eight years with Cardno BSD, and is now responsible for 26 permanent staff in offices located at Perth and Busselton.

Significant projects that Jason has recently been involved with include the Alkimos Wastewater Scheme as ‘Alliance, Environment and Community Manager’ (Alkimos Water Alliance $300M); Burns Beach Residential Development on behalf of PEET Limited (winner of the 2007 Western Australian Coastal Awards for Excellence – Outstanding Coastal Development, Innovation and/or Design); Project Manager of the Whitby Residential Development on behalf of Urban Pacific Limited; and Project Director of the Swan Regional Riverside Park Foreshore Restoration and Management Plan.

Josh Byrne & Associates - Sustainability Consultants

Josh Byrne & Associates (JBA) provides specialist expertise and experience integrating the fields of environmental science, landscape design, sustainability policy and environmental communication.  

Josh Byrne – Director

Josh is recognised as a national leader in environmental communication and sustainable landscaping, and is well known for his media work as a television presenter (on ABC TV’s Gardening Australia) and published author (of the best-selling book The Green Gardener).  Josh brings a unique and integrated approach to landscape design, community development and environmental communication projects, which combines his academic background in Environmental Science with over 10 years of hands-on experience in the environmental technology, horticultural and media industries.

Xavier Menagé – Project Manager

Prior to joining JBA, Xavier worked with the Federal Department of the Environment and Heritage and the Australian Greenhouse Office for over five years.  During this time he worked on a number of industry-related sustainability programs, including as manager of the Green Buildings and the Greenhouse Friendly programs.  Xavier has strong working knowledge and experience in applying key sustainability principles to projects and programs, and in the value and relevance of sound environmental management to assist with corporate/government strategic positioning and leadership.

Behnam Bordbar – Managing Director

Transcore is a traffic engineering and transporting planning consultancy that  assists its clients by providing a substantial level of technical skill, diverse project experience, knowledge of client needs, and commitment to excellence.  Transcore’s fields of expertise include transport planning; traffic engineering; simulation and transport modeling; strategic and consultative planning; policy analysis and development; and parking , travel demand management and transport safety planning. ACIL Tasman - Economic Consultants

Grant Coble-Neal – Senior consultant

ACIL Tasman Pty Ltd is an economic consulting practice providing high quality economic, policy and strategic analysis and advice. With an international reputation built over two decades, ACIL Tasman is now one of the largest economic consulting practices in Australia with business and government clients throughout the Asia/Pacific region.

Grant Coble-Neal is an economic and policy analyst in ACIL Tasman’s Perth office. He has 10 years experience working in both the academic and government sectors. His capability covers applied economics with emphasis on microeconomics, micro-econometrics, time series analysis and discrete choice modelling. Prior to joining ACIL Tasman, Grant worked for both the Government of Western Australia, the Department of the Treasury (Commonwealth Government). He has worked in a research capacity at Curtin University of Technology. As a result, Grant has published extensively in leading economic journals. Grant has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) majoring in economics and finance and a PhD in economics from Curtin University of Technology.

Fireplan WA - Fire Management Consultants

Bill Harris - Managing Director

Bill Harris is the Principal Consultant for FirePlan WA, a firm consulting in rural fire prevention, fire management planning, Community Safety and Emergency Management Planning. Over the past 35 years Bill has had vast experience in Bush Fire operations, management, communications, fire prevention, strategic planning, volunteer management and emergency management planning.  He has also served as CEO and Executive Director of the Bush Fire Service.  Bill’s recent projects in WA include undertaking  Bush Fire Hazard Assessments for the City of Swan and other local government organisations and preparing fire management plans for the Department of Defence.
